Today we saw a lot of the sights of Chicago. The Sears Tower was a blast - and since it was a weekday - the wait was non-existent. I do wish the tower had an open deck. Other than that, the view was outstanding. I think my favorite spot was Millenium Park which is a giant waterfront park with lots of little areas and attractions in them. The outdoor fountains were a blast. It was so hot, I should have taken Colleen's advice and gotten wet.
Buckingham fountain was a blast. The water show was very neat, and we also had a great view of what appeared to be a fire in part of a new high-rise under contsruction. The screaming firetrucks as we were leaving seemed to back up the story, but we never heard anything more about it.

Navy Pier offered a great view of the lake, lots of tour boats and some pretty touristy things like the Ferris Wheel, etc... It wasn't my favorite attraction, but I do think it got a bad rap because we arrived here at the end of our day - when we were pretty dead on our feet.
Dinner at Portello's rejuvinated us. The chocolate cake shake wasn't so hot. But we brushed it off and cheered up by calling our good friend Steve. We're still waiting for him to put down the chocolate milk and call us back. The hotel pool and hot tub were great, although it was pretty crowded, so we cut things short - and Colleen gave me my birthday gifts.
