On the Water - Chicago

August 6, 2008

Today was a day to enjoy the water in Chicago. The day started with a bus ride a few miles north. To my surprise and enjoyment, Chicago beaches are very accessible. We stepped off the bus and arrived at the waterfront. The beach was pristine, the water was just right and we even had some entertainment. A kid who looked a lot like our good friend Kelson greeted us (and everyone else who walked by) with a "hello". We sun-bathed and listened to some tunes on Colleen's ipod... it's fun to share an ear bud. We also took a walk along the water to the next beach down and saw some people swimming in the lake ala Kramer in the East River - swimming cap and all.

At night, it was time to go out on the water - for a fireworks cruise. Colleen wore an incredibly beautiful red dress and looked amazing. She thinks it was the beer that made me twirl her around and dance with her in the park, but I think it was really this dress.

As for what caused me to do a duet with Hannah Montana at a local bus stop - I'll let you decide...

Chicago's lakefront: B+ (water could be a little warmer)
The little red dress: A+
