The final day of these trips always seems to be marked by unusual people. Today, we ventured to Providence for Colleen's interview. While she was away, I enjoyed the 60 degree weather by taking a walk around the Rhode Island State Capitol and hanging out at the Providence Place mall.

Later, we enjoyed watching the Family Feud and a lady who offered some unusual answers to every question. We also decided to make a quick stop at Friendly's on the way to the airport. Unfortunately, after 10 minutes, we still weren't seated, so we had to do the take-out option. It tasted just as yummy! On our way to the airport, we enjoyed listen to Santa take calls from kids on WROR. Funny, Santa sounded just like the evening DJ - and the two never spoke at the same time. Strange coincidence I guess? Our favorite caller was the one with a surprisingly deep voice who asked for a computer and gave some pretty impressive specs about how much memory it should have. I also enjoyed the kids who called sheepishly asking for "an American Girl doll" - and it had to be translated for Santa by a very impressive screener who somehow understood "kid" better than any other language.
We killed some flight delay time by checking out books in the bookstore and trying to talk to the clerk trying to close up the Brookstone store in the terminal. Who buys giant massage chairs at an airport anyway? We asked if he was closing up, he said, "yup" and continued on... his loss.
Rhode Island: B; Friendly's Ice Cream: A+; Friendly's Service: D; WROR Santa: Priceless
